The only Florida city to sport two major pari-mutuel racing facilities, Hallandale is home to Gulfstream Race Track and the Hollywood Greyhound Track. Gulfstream, open every day but Tuesday from January 3rd to March 16th offers the excitement of the race as well as other entertainment. The Hollywood Greyhound Track is one of the largest arenas in the world built exclusively for greyhound racing. Open seven days a week for racing from December 1st to May 31st the track is also open year round for the Hollywood Dog Track Flea Market with 500 plus vendors. The track supports Adopt A Greyhound, a program placing retired racing dogs with loving families and is also involved in special events and community programs including National Night Out and the Memorial Hospital Health Fair.
